Total Solar Eclipse, 21st Aug 2017

The following pictures were taken during the Partial and Total phases of the 2017 Eclipse in the USA at a location near Glenville, North Carolina. Many thanks to my Aunt and Uncle, Margie and Richard, for the opportunity to see and experience this eclipse! The pictures were taken using a Canon 40D mounted onto the back of a Borg 89ED Refracting Telescope with a 1.4x field flattener/focal Extender (840mm focal length).

Note that the first shot in the series is a frame taken from video so not optically great but just brings the eclipse into perspective and shows the cloud that had already started to interfere during totality,

Remember the Total Eclipse from Cornwall in 1999? I did actually see something and one shot in particular came out very well indeed: Eclipse 1999.
